Under 18 years old
Young people under 18 are less equipped to cope with the effects of alcohol, physically and emotionally. The same amount of alcohol will have a greater effect on the body of a child or a young person than on an adult because they are still growing.

For that reason, in Greece, as well as in most European countries and in the USA, there are laws forbidding the consumption of alcohol to minors under 18 years old.

The law voted in Greece in 2008 is the following:

«
Minors are forbidden to enter or stay or engage in any kind of activity in night clubs and bars, or consume alcoholic beverages in all public entertainment halls, except in private events».
